…because that is, where all his accomplishments lie! I did not have the opportunity to watch the second presidential debate live, because I was sitting in an aircraft. After touchdown in Germany, the general assumption was, Obama ahead on points, while Romney stood his ground. While I certainly agree with the latter, I have difficulities agreeing with an Obama win. I believe that this impression was contaminated by the very poor performance of the incumbent in debate one. Obama was much better this time. But if you listened carefully to where he allegedly scored: The lot of it was populist or promises what he would like to do in the future. The kid has got a four year record. He circumvented this “record” or he mislead. This was, in my opinion, obvious. I knew he was phony in 2008, he proved to be in the last four years and he emphasized it in the debate. If you got a TelePromTer or you memorize certain talking points, instead of appearing in “The View”, you can do better than in debate one. But what is the difference? Facts matter. And it is a fact that he went to a fundraiser in Las Vegas the day after the American ambassador in Libya was killed in Bengasi. After having been denied additional security forces (Biden [of “The Shinging”-Fame] denied this; but what does he care about but dentistry and hair-plugs). I want to make my point with a single Obama quote:
“We’re a nation that believes in the Second Amendment, and I believe in the Second Amendment. We’ve got a long tradition of hunting and sportsmen and people who want to make sure they can protect themselves.”
Do you believe him? And do you believe he even understands America? If you think so, Thomas Jefferson must have been wrong here:
“The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.”
Obama or Jefferson? The choice is yours, America! A very short summary after a long, long journey from Austin /TX to Hamburg. © Joachim Nikolaus Steinhöfel 2012
